Jerez Hampered by Poor Weather

Tom Luthi (Interwetten Moto2) and Andrea Iannone (WTR/Speed Master Team), did 10 and 35 laps respectively on their new bikes, with Iannone recording the best unofficial Moto2 time of 1’57.6. Both teams have been working to reconfirm their base settings on the Suter chassis which they first tested in Valencia.
Mika Kallio (Marc VDS Racing), Pol Espargaro (Tuenti Speed Up) and Xavier Fores (Mapfre Aspar Team) braved the damp conditions to get experience on their new bikes, recording a best time of 2’01.6, 2’01.3, 1’58.4 respectively.
Iodaracing made their Moto2 track debut, with recently signed Italian rider Simone Corsi doing 6 laps, with a best time of 2’03. Corsi’s 2010 JIR Moto2 team-mate, Mattia Passini, has joined his compatriot at Iodaracing but did not go out in the rain.
Suter Racing’s first ever MotoGP test started with Damian Cudlin recording a best lap of 1’57.7, having ridden 36 laps on the 2012 spec bike, with Marc VDS Racing’s Scott Redding hoping to record his first MotoGP laps on the bike tomorrow, if time and conditions allow.
All teams stopped just after 17:00 local time, with one hour to go, after some oil had spilt on turn 1.
All times are unofficial as official timing was not used.
